Here at the studio I wanted to share some thoughts about the stretchers which i have seen on the pre-made canvases. You know the ones i mean…The premade ones which arty shops sell…the ones which are mass produced…the ones which are not made with Loooove….
Ah yes you know which ones i refer to haha….well we dont use those here as they are simply not upto the standard….
We have all our stretchers handmade by a skilled carpenter who is able to custom any size we require from him…
They really are a touch of Art in themselves!
Solid, robust and durable…
…and did i mention they are build like a tank….oh yes i already mentioned that…well just in case you missed it the first time…
upon the stretcher we hand stretch all the canvas ourselves….then prime with Gesso which has a lovely finish…a slight “Tooth” to the touch…a fine surface to really lace some delicious colours onto…..stay tuned for more…..
